Seles AI is a web-based AI story generation platform developed by Seles AI ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

2.1 Data you provide

• Account information — email address, name (optional), pen name (optional). Used for authentication and export attribution.
• Story inputs — genre, premise, language, target chapter count, and per-chapter direction you provide. This data is used to generate your novel.
• Generated content — all characters, chapters, outlines, and story data produced by the AI pipeline and stored in your account.
• Edits and feedback — any manual edits you make to chapters and feedback you submit to the agent system.

2.2 Payment information

• Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy or PayPal. We never see or store your credit card or bank details.
• We retain only the order ID, transaction timestamp, amount, and product type for your purchase history and support.

2.3 Data collected automatically

• Usage data — chapters generated, credits consumed, feature usage. Used for billing, abuse prevention, and service improvement.
• Log data — IP address, browser type, and access times collected transiently for security and debugging. Retained for 30 days.

2.4 Data sent to third parties

• Google Gemini API — your story inputs (genre, premise, prior chapter summaries, character data) are sent to Google's AI service to generate content. Google processes this data under their own privacy policy. We do not send your email, name, or payment information to Google.

• To provide the novel generation service — creating, storing, and serving your stories.
• To process payments and manage credits.
• To authenticate your account and maintain security.
• To provide technical support.
• To prevent fraud and abuse of the credit system.

Your account data and generated stories are stored on our infrastructure. We use TLS encryption in transit and encrypt data at rest. Access to personal data is limited to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.

Story content (premises, chapters, characters) is stored to provide the Service. This data is necessary for the multi-chapter continuity system to function — each new chapter relies on the history of prior chapters.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or story content with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with:

• Google Gemini — story inputs required for AI generation, subject to Google's privacy policy.
• LemonSqueezy / PayPal — payment processing, subject to their respective privacy policies.
• Law enforcement — if required by applicable law or valid legal process.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Export your story data (available via EPUB/PDF/DOCX download or the API).
• Object to processing or withdraw consent.
• Delete your account and all associated data.

• Account data — retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion request.
• Story content — retained while your account is active. Deleted when you delete a novel or your account.
• Payment records — retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance.
• Security logs — deleted after 30 days.

Seles is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Some AI-generated content may not be suitable for minors — parental discretion is advised.

If you use Seles from outside the EU, your data may be transferred to and processed in EU data centers. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of Seles after a change constitutes acceptance.
